The W65 self-rescuer pouch is designed for mining and tunnelling workers who require a reliable, stable and ergonomic method of carrying their W65 emergency breathing unit. By shifting the load away from the belt line and onto the Tech Vest platform, it improves mobility and reduces discomfort during long shifts. This pouch keeps the device secure, protected and easy to access when workers need it most.
Built using abrasion-resistant fabrics and reinforced seams, the pouch withstands dust, vibration and constant movement. Workers who climb ladders, operate machinery or move through confined spaces benefit from its low-swing, high-stability mount. The design prevents bounce, keeps the unit upright and maintains clear access to release points. These features support safer daily operations in demanding underground conditions.
Traditional belt-mounted self-rescuers can cause hip fatigue, pinch points and restricted movement. This pouch relocates the weight to the torso where the load can be distributed more evenly through the Tech Vest harness. The result is greater freedom of movement, particularly when bending, kneeling or stepping over uneven ground. Workers report reduced pressure, less interference with PPE, and improved all-day comfort.
The pouch attaches directly to any Tech Vest model and can be positioned according to the worker’s preference. It is fully compatible with additional pouches such as the
